Dawn about to get pummeled by her friends with snowballs. Wintertime fun!

Motorized Unicycle
Another Shadowrun-inspired drawing. A motorized unicycle plugged into the brainpan of a rigger. With a chain gun-on-a-stick!

The Matrix
I drew this for a drawing contest a while back. I drew myself in The Matrix. Yeah, it rocks.

The still image that inspired the short cartoon of the same name.

Horror Poster
This was a poster I created for a local school library. It was done entirely in Expression, with no tablet (!).

California Candidates
When the silliness of California having over 100 gubernatorial candidates was going on, I was inspired to make a small political cartoon about the whole thing. Enjoy!

Science & Math Division Logo
This was an entry for a logo competition that VJC’s Science and Math Department had one time. I didn’t win. :(

Skate Video Intro
I edited a few skate videos for my little brother. This was the intro for the first one. Envision Green Day’s “Welcome to Paradise” playing while it’s running and you’ll get the idea of how the actual finished product looked.

Pic-i-nic Baskit
A big bear with a big gun. This once came from a game of Shadowrun.

About
My name is John Bintz. I am a Web programmer by trade, and a cartoonist in my spare time. I’ve been programming computers for a very long time, and have recently become involved with Open Source software development. I specialize in scripting languages such as Ruby, Perl, and PHP, as well as with database-driven Web development, but that doesn’t mean I can’t branch out into other areas of development.
I am also an experienced cartoonist. I am currently working on writing, drawing, and self-publishing an all-ages graphic novel titled “A Moment of Clarity,” and I have been involved in a number of animation productions, both for fun and for profit. I’ve been drawing almost as long as I’ve been programming computers, and I’m not stopping anytime soon.
Instead of throwing up a bunch of links to friends, cohorts, and things that I enjoy on the sidebar, I’m going to throw them here, in no particular order:
